Queensland driver's licence card number changes
Changes were implemented in September 2022 to introduce driver licence card numbers as a mandatory field for DVS verifications against ACT, SA, Tas, NSW, WA and NT driver licences.
As of 7 November 2022, students or providers using a Queensland driver’s licence are also required to provide the card number when creating or updating a USI.
When did this change take place?
The DVS program, together with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads implemented this change on 7 November 2022.
What does my organisation need to do?
Your organisation does not need to make any changes to the way you connect to the USI Registry System.
The Queensland driver’s license continues to be one of the forms of acceptable identification for creating a USI. Students can continue to use the following forms of identification.
Your organisation needs to enter the card number when creating or updating a student’s USI, otherwise the ID will not verify successfully.
Organisations who connect to the USI Registry System via Web Services will need to speak with their developer in the first instance.
