Accessing the USI Registry System step by step
Your Digital ID or your Student Management System (SMS) access controls your user name and password.
For more information on setting up your Digital ID, such as myID (formerly myGovID), and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM), see our authentication webpage.
- Are you listed on training.gov.au or the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) National Register?
- Check that your organisation is listed on training.gov.au (TGA) for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
- TEQSA National Register for Higher Education Providers
- Check that the ABN listed on TGA or the TEQSA National Register is the same one associated with your organisation in RAM
- If your ABN has recently changed contact your Regulator to update the TGA or the TEQSA National Register.
How will you connect?
There are 2 ways to connect to the USI Registry System:
USI Organisation Portal: for education or training providers connect to the USI Registry System through our website
Note: You will need a Digital ID, such as myID, and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).
and/or
SMS to USI Registry System via web services: you may connect with the USI Registry System directly from your SMS
Note:
- Machine-to-Machine (M2M) authentication solution is required for this option
- Third Party Testing: your developers will need to test their system with the USI Registry System. For additional information please read our System Developers Information.
- Do you have a myID (formerly myGovID)?
- Access to the USI Registry System is partly controlled by your Digital ID. myID is your Digital ID and allows you to prove who you are online
- To set up your myID , download the myID app, enter your details, and add your ID documents. You need a standard identity strength to access the USI Registry System.
Have you linked your myID to your organisation in RAM?
If you are:
- responsible for a business or an associate (principal authority), you’ll need to link your myID to the Australian business number (ABN) in RAM first. Once linked, you can access online services on behalf of the organisation and authorise others to do the same.
- an employee or acting on behalf of the organisation (authorised user or administrator), a principal authority or authorisation administrator need to authorise you in RAM before you can act on behalf of the organisation. You’ll use your myID to log in to RAM and accept your authorisation.
