What is nationally recognised training?

Nationally recognised training is any program or training that leads to vocational qualifications and credentials recognised across Australia. It includes:

studying at a public (eg TAFE) or private training provider
completing an apprenticeship, certificate or diploma course.

Who can deliver nationally recognised training?

Only Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) can deliver nationally recognised training and issue nationally recognised qualifications or statements of attainment.

Did you undertake training before 2015?

The USI was introduced in 2015, therefore training completed before 1 January 2015 will not appear in a USI account.

Registered Training Organisations report their training data to the National VET Provider Collection at least annually or more regularly. This forms the basis of VET transcripts in a student’s USI account. Find out more about VET transcripts.
